Fell in love at 1st sight! Ive owned 5 convertibles and the PT is my favorite. Easy to enter/exit, raise/lower top. Solid structure without leaks even after 37000 miles. Reasonably quick and nimble. Fun to drive, to look upon and fun in which to be seen. Trunk access poorly designed. Pricey but worth it just looking at it.

  • A head turner - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

Our 2005 PT convertible is a real head turner. I have never had a car that generated so much interest. This car is also very roomy, great leg room front and rear, great headroom in the front. All the controls are easy to use and gauges are excellent. The turbo-charged engine is responsive with no turbo lag and plenty of torque and power. Car is also very quiet. With the top down, it is quiet as a sedan.

Great smooth ride. Plenty of interior room. Mileage could be better. Great classic look. Gets lots of attention. Dealership was great. No high pressure tacticts. My sister just bought herself a PT Cruiser based upon my recommendation.

Pop and pep--the PT really can move with 220 HP and a five speed. The styling is still crisp and the look is pure vintage. The car is as versatile as they come. The seat configuations make it very useful in many different situations. The PT has some serious get up and go and can really get you moving in a hurry.

  • 1st PT Cruiser - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

This is my first PT. I have wanted one since inception and finally got it. I love the uniqueness about this car. Although they really need to address the fuel economy issue and engine size, other than that the car performs very well. I would also like to see the crash test results as I have three children that love to ride in it. The interior has amazing headroom and legroom, although controls for the rear windows need to be placed elsewhere. Storage space is large for grocery runs. I have checked online for add-ons and found literally hundreds of different things that I can "trick" out my PT to make it even more unique. I would definitely purchase another when this one wears out.

With less than 200 miles this is probably not a real review, but I am quite impressed with the feel of the car when driving and the fun spirit of the appearance. I just gave up a 98 Corolla, which I loved but getting in and out became harder and harder as I age. I fingd this a very worthy replacement, which easily gets rid of the problem of climbing out of a smalll car.

Lots of fun! affordable! I bought mine used-20k for 15k. I thought it was most fun I can buy for the price. love neo-classic desgin. My first convertible-I always wanted one. Love sitting position as it is higher than most passenger cars. Interior size is perfect-as big as some midsize cars. Back seats are great-You can actually sit in them! Interior design good. Stereo is not very good but it serves its purpose. Car drives ok-not as smooth as other compact cars I have driven. Turbo is fun! Exterior size is compact so easy to control execpt for the blind spots with top up. Insurance cost is very high-about 35% more than my 2001 Altima. Gas mileage- low 20s city/hwy combined

  • Poor design for the front bumper - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser

I just love the car....but the front bumper keeps bottoming out. I am tired of replacing it and being told there is nothing that can be done about the low profile. I am really surprised that there seems to be little concern from other owners about this problem.

I got my PT Cruiser convertible in April of 05. I always liked the PT from when it first came out. This car is the cutest car Ive ever owned. It drives great, the turbo has great power especially when merging into traffic on the major highways. The a/c works great, all electronics work well. I like how when the top goes down all the windows do too at the same time. I would recommend this car to anyone who likes a convertible. I get alot of compliments on the car all the time. It is a definite head turner. The model I have is the Dream Cruiser Series which makes it alittle different then the usual PT, being that the convertble top color matched that of the car. A great choice in car selection

  • Safety in a small car - 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
    By -

This is a small car with good fuel economy. Totally fun to drive around town especially to zip into small spaces where other vehicles cannot park. The freeway I feel is a scary proposition. My concern is the size and I have not been able to find any web sites that list the PT Cruiser for a crash rating. When you are sitting behind the steering wheel of the Cruiser the dash appears to be 18" to 2 in front of you, but the hood looks like it is only extended about 8" beyond that. Kinda scary. I realize it is the optics that give that impression, but I feel I deserve to feel safe in my car. Putting this car in cruise control is awkward as is having the gas tank on the right side.
